Bitácora Sonora is a project for AECID’s (Spanish International Cooperation) Chaco Ra’anga’s plan. Its purpose is to approach people to the enormous cultural and natural wealth and the complex History and reality of the Great Chaco’s transnational region. The project materializes in a sound map, which content was captured during the Chaco Ra’anga expedition in May 2015.
The map, like an interactive trip, invites visitors to submerge into sounds of natural and urban environments, different spoken languages and music from diverse origins. All this sounds are matched to pictures and texts that complement and amplify the information.
The project has been formalized in three different ways: A web sound map, a sound installation for the travelling exhibition (pictures), and as a part of a book. It has counted with the collaboration of Luis Fernández (sound engineer) and Abel Serrano (computer engineer).
